PARTICIPATION TERMS

You are purchasing digital participation in one round. Your payment applies the exact amount you choose to one of the two published definitions of that round’s word.

Immediately after your payment is confirmed, you receive: your amount added to that definition’s public support total, a confirmation screen recording your meaning, amount and confirmation time, a shareable invitation for your side, and your public name listed alongside the round if you chose to show it.

You choose the amount. The minimum is $5. Amounts are in US dollars. Nothing is recurring, nothing is stored for later use, and no balance is kept for you.

Every round closes at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on its own day. That time is absolute and follows Pacific daylight or standard time as it applies on the day.

A payment counts only once the payment processor confirms it as successful, and only if that confirmation is received before the 5:00 PM Pacific cutoff. Starting a payment, authorizing it, or reaching the checkout screen does not count on its own.

If confirmation arrives after the cutoff, your payment does not count in that round’s result. It is recorded, marked as confirmed after the cutoff, and reviewed by an authorized person. Where a confirmed-after-cutoff payment took no part in the result, contact support at the address below and it will be resolved directly with you.

A payment that starts close to the cutoff may not confirm in time, so back your meaning through the day.

Results are published from the confirmed payments on record at the cutoff. A tie remains a tie. Where a correction is made after publication, the correction and its public note are shown on that round’s result.

The method used to weigh participation is not published. It is applied the same way to every round and to every participant.

There is no prize, payout, financial return, ownership interest, investment, wallet, stored value, donation receipt, or transferable right. You do not own a word, a meaning, or a result. Participation is for entertainment only.

Payments are final once confirmed. They are not returned based on the outcome of a round.

This does not remove any refund or cancellation right you have by law, and it does not limit the payment processor’s ability to process a refund, a chargeback, or any customer-protection action. Duplicate charges, unauthorized charges, and technical errors are corrected. If something has gone wrong with your payment, contact support first and it will be looked at.

You must be 18 or older. Participation may be refused or reversed where a payment is disputed in a way that changes a published result, where activity is automated or fraudulent, or where these terms are not followed.

Promotional credit is sometimes issued directly by MEANME. It is never sold, never transferable, and can never be converted to money or anything of value.

These terms are versioned. The version shown at the top is recorded with every payment, so what you agreed to is the version that was in front of you when you paid.
